Uses for Old Piano Rolls
By Ken Rosen

When I was a kid, there was a narrow window in the tiny restroom next
to my bedroom. The window shade was 11 or 12 inches wide. I took off
the shade, rolled a piano roll onto the roller, and reattached the
circular shade puller. It stayed that way for years.

What didn't occur to me at the time was to move the wall mounted paper
roll holders farther apart. This is probably because I only had the
one roll. But that was very long ago. Besides, some of the better
roll paper stocks used by Wurlitzer, Imperial, Kimball, etc., would
have been really uncomfortable, and probably would have stuffed up
the plumbing.
