A small addendum to my post on the Arielle, Electora, Motora, etc.
[050204 MMDigest]
I've just discovered the existence of a rival of the Motor Player
Corporation: the Piano Motors Corporation of Camden, with whom they
were in patent litigation: "of the Third Circuit... Piano Motors
Corporation v. Motor Player Corporation (C. C. A.) 282 F. 435, 437."
Perhaps someone can say when and what this was.
Another reference, on interesting people in Camden, says: "Mr. [Frank
Smith] Rodan is also vice-president of the Piano Motors Corporation,
Camden... At the time of the 1920 Census, the Rodan family lived at
716 Grant Avenue in Collingswood, NJ. They had moved two blocks, to 401
Collings Avenue, at the corner of Grant and Collings Avenue, by 1930.
Frank S. Rodan appears in the 1936 New Jersey Bell Telephone Directory
at that same address. He appears to have passed away by 1947."
These provoke thoughts on who were the manufacturers of the Motora and
the Welte turbine...
