Wurlitzer Style 126 Band Organ
By Don Teach
The seller of eBay item 3778822214 states this is a new organ that
plays Wurlitzer Style 125 music rolls instead of Style 105 rolls.
I have never seen or heard of a Style 105 roll. I think all Wurlitzer
band organs from Style 103 to 126 play the Style 125 roll. I don't
believe the registers he mentioned are controlled by the roll but were
used to aid in tuning the organ, as the Style 125 roll does not have
control holes for registers.
I think only one Style 126 band organ still exists today and it is in
Nashville, AR. It was originally on the merry-go-round in Little Rock,
AR. It is one with all wood pipes and a wooden facade like the softer
voiced organs used in skating rinks. It is a nice organ but I have
never seen an material from Wurlitzer advertising this model.
Does anyone have any information on the Style 126 Wurlitzer band organ?
