As a supplier of this tube, I have read, with huge amusement,
the correspondence over the last couple of weeks. I envy some
correspondent's the amount of spare time that they must have
to spend in such deliberations!
At last, some common sense from Bill Sharkey! There's no way I'd
sit and measure out 300 feet for someone.
I sell the stuff in 20 metre coils; that's how it comes from the
manufacturer. A standard player piano can be re-tubed with two
coils [40 m = 131 feet], a PEDA would need 2-1/2 coils.
Rarely, I am asked for an extra couple of feet, which I will gladly
let a customer have for nothing. Why don't people buy it, say, at
50 feet at a time? It's only a couple of days away in the post.
The surplus, if any, is very useful for tying up plants in the
garden!
Best wishes for 2005 to all.
