For my money, I see no reason to reprint some of the Vestal Press
publications. "Rebuilding the Player Piano", by Larry Givens, is nice
but there is a better book on the market that is easy to obtain that
every player restorer should have by Arthur Reblitz. The Reblitz book
on the players is excellent, providing much more information than any
previous publication.
The Reblitz book, "Piano Servicing, Tuning and Rebuilding", second
edition, is another "must have" for any piano owner/restorer. The book
"Golden Age of Mechanical Music" contains much of the information that
"Treasures of Mechanical Music" contained with corrections to the
tracker scales. Use your Internet search engine to find that fine book
or any of the others I have mentioned. I feel that reprinting someone
else's work would open a book of legal problems and financial headaches.
