>> Dear Bill Wineburgh,
>>
>> Thank you very much for your kind assistance. You must really be
>> some kind of expert.
>>
>> It seems rather fantastic that one can sit in such a situation in
>> Denmark, and within one or two days get a problem regarding a German
>> music box solved in New Jersey. I wonder how people managed before
>> the Internet ...
>>
>> Because of you now I can start swapping the net for all possible
>> information about Lochmann. Once again, thank you very, very much.

>> Birger Olsen
Dear Birger Olsen: Yes, the Internet is a wonderful tool. I am not
quite an expert, but I have a resource library available to me that is
invaluable. I thank all of the authors of the books about mechanical
music and musical boxes for their work.
To get you started on information about Paul Lochmann, read the
following: http://mmd.foxtail.com/Archives/KWIC/L.html
Click on the Lochmann hotlinks:

There is more written about Paul Lochmann in the various books about
musical boxes. He is credited with starting the first disc musical box
company (Symphonion) and later, his own company, selling the Lochmann
"Original" -- like the one you have.
Best regards,
Bill Wineburgh
