Gavioli Street Organs
By Marc Kaufman

I have a 38 note Gavioli playing 8 tunes, labeled:

Harmoniflute a Trombone. Systme Gavioli Brevte & Patented.
  14 Rue D'Aligre, Paris.

Based on the address of Rue D'Aligre I would date the organ between
1845 and 1853. The bellows were recovered in 1989 prior to my
purchasing it. I have photographs of a Paris newspaper, from 1861
or 1862, that was used to line the bellows. The serial number is 632.
