Number of Duo-Art Expression Levels
By Eliyahu Shahar

If I understood the question correctly, it was more of a mathematical
calculation including the combinations possible.

The Accompaniment level cannot be larger than the Theme, but they
can both be at the same level, so then for each Theme level 'n' you
can have a maximum of 'n' Accompaniment levels; so for Theme level
16 you have 16 accompaniment possibilities, for Theme level 15 there
are 15 possibilities, which totals to 136. Doubling that for the
soft pedal, 272.

Add to this the fact that you can play a note when the vacuum level
is in transition between accompaniment and theme and which was the
first level and which the second -- you can really greatly increase
the possibilities.
