Bonjour! I'm particularly happy and glad to inform you that a new
hand-played piano roll produced by Joyce Brite and presented at the
last AMICA convention is now available for purchasing.
This 1929 song, "I Want To Be Bad," has been never before been issued
on piano roll although it was the big hit of the musical "Follow Thru",
written by Ray Henderson, B. G. DeSylva & Lew Brown.
All trad jazz, blues and ragtime aficionados will certainly love the
spicy and lively rendition of this tune, which is slightly different
from the audio recording I made in Nov. 2003 at the nationwide radio
station "France-Culture", on their Steinway concert grand. It is
a genuine, 100 percent hand-played roll, and it can be ordered now!
For information please visit Joyce Brite's PP&MME site at
http://mmd.foxtail.com/Exchange/rollpage.htm
Being a musician interested in mechanical music, and particularly in
player pianos, it was a dream come true for me to record a hand-played
roll as my piano idols have done in the past. As a result, I'd like to
express my sincere gratitude and my "remerciements" to Joyce Brite and
Robbie Rhodes for their kind help in making this piano roll project
possible.
