Hello to All, I've been burning CDs, as well as the midnight oil for
the last few nights, and things are starting to come together to
complete everyone's order. The response has been great, and talking
to everyone has been wonderful. I'm sorry I didn't have time to write
more to each of you. If I have failed to respond to anyone's email,
please let me know.
Good news to those who ordered CDs: all of the tunes have been
identified and listed, and will accompany your order. Matthew Caufield
scores a perfect 100% in the "Name That (band organ) Tune" contest.
Incredibly, Matthew was able to identify all 30 songs by memory, out
of over 2000 possibilities. What makes it even more difficult is that
these songs are a mix from four different rolls. It turns out that
each CD contains songs from two different rolls. However, they are all
from the 1919 to 1928 era, and contain some lively marches, fox-trots,
waltzes and one-steps.
With this additional information, I'm putting together a package to go
with the CDs. I'm going to label each CD with the songs they contain,
and also include a paper copy of the song titles, dates, writer, genre
and roll number. I was so excited to finally have the names of the
songs after all these years, and I'm sure they will make listening much
more enjoyable for everyone.
Due to this additional information, it might be Monday before I can
get all of the paid-for orders in the mail. That would give me this
weekend to finish arranging and printing some additional information to
go with the CDs. Sorry for the slight delay, but it will be well worth
it, I promise you! I also have some photos I will send to the group as
soon as I get a chance to scan them and run them through PhotoShop to
clean them up a little.
I will take four more orders for sets of these CDs at this special
price, then I'm only going to make them on order. (If you have emailed
me and are sending a check, you are already on the list for the first
batch.) I'll still have the CDs available, but I'll only make them up
as needed. I'll be asking $15 for the set of three CDs, and an
additional $3 for the bonus CD with almost 80 minutes of solid band
organ music. In most cases, add $2 for packaging and mailing.
I can also make cassette tapes available. One 90-minute cassette will
hold all 3 CDs worth of band organ music (30 songs), and will also sell
for $15, plus $2 for packing and mailing. These will be recorded onto
new Type II low noise/high output name brand tapes, and can be recorded
with or without Dolby noise reduction. Great for the car, if you don't
have a CD player. All the song information will be included. Personal
checks and PayPal accepted. Please use <thepacratz@aol.com> to make
a PayPal payment, or you may send a personal check or money order to:
