Hi Fritz, Glad you were satisfied with the spool frames. As in all
cases, the credit goes to Noble for coming up with the original design
and building the jigs and fixtures necessary to make the frames with
precision and repeatability.
I started assembling spool frames when I first arrived at MSI in 1978,
and soon took over the whole operation. My main contribution to the
design was the replacement of the rewind pneumatic with an electric
solenoid, relay and micro-switch. This greatly simplified the rewind
mechanism and eliminated the need for a vacuum supply to the spool
frame.

Hope you avoided the worst of it. My sympathies go out to the unlucky
folks in its path. Looks like a bad one!
Best to All,
