Regarding Ed Chaban's comment about ordering difficulties for recut
rolls by snail mail and check: If roll-recutters would like, I can put
up a web site that allows the customer to order the rolls with real-time
ordering and credit card processing. I already have a merchant credit
card account and web page for a vintage board game business I own, so it
would be no problem to set something up for rolls or parts or whatever.
Basically, I would take the order and money through my system, then I
would contact the recutter or supplier with the order information and
send them a check. In time once they trust me I would hope they could
ship as soon as they get the order notification, knowing that the check
is in the mail. In order to help me cover the cost of the credit card
processing (which is expensive) and a little for my time, I would
probably ask that the suppliers give me a 10-15% discount, meaning that
the customer pays full price, I keep 10-15%, and the supplier gets
85-90% of the price. Or conversely, I could tag on 10-15% to the
supplier's price instead, although that might scare away customers.
