Hi folks, I read each day why someone was leaving such-and-such
group, but no one has said a thing about the greatest organization
around -- the Mechanical Music Digest!
Why did I join? Here are my top 10 reasons:
10. Very reasonable -- $30 a year. (Come on, folks, ante up!)
9. Excellent web site, with nice webmaster and no pop-ups.
8. Everyone knows a little about something and some very deep
discussions often occur.
7. Some folks know a lot about everything, but no two can agree
on how to properly seal a leather pouch.
6. Subscribers will stay up 'til 2 A.M. reading the virtues of
hot hide glue.
5. It keeps you out of the bars, and in the workshop.
4. Where else could you hear Don Teach talk for a whole week
about his rosewood balls?
3. Where else could you read latest auction prices and those silly
reasons why your wife will not let you buy that Mills Violano.
2. It's fun finding the MMD buried among all the Viagra spam
I receive each day.
1. What other group would let you join while sipping a Jack Daniels
in your underwear?
Cheers,

[ Gee, Roger, I hadn't thought of all those benefits! Since
[ Foxtail Group is really a commercial business (that delivers an
[ electronic newsletter to subscribers) we shouldn't be compared too
[ closely with the formal societies. MMD (Foxtail Group) doesn't
[ collect annual dues but we do solicit contributions. We are
[ commercial instead of non-profit so that we don't have to bother
[ with a heap of government requirements; we simply pay business
[ taxes. And we have fun. -- Robbie
