I thought someone might respond to the questions concerning the Link
2-E model nickelodeon. Link to my knowledge never published a tubing
diagram for this model. There was a small pamphlet at one time in
print on servicing the Link pianos but I don't remember any details
from the pamphlet that would help today's restorer. When these pianos
were new and literature was published then the publisher assumed you
could just contact the factory for parts and advice.
Link was always innovating and incorporating new ideas as the pianos
were manufactured. It is rare to find two Link pianos with identical
mechanisms but the basic roll frame, pneumatic stack and pump are
usually consistent from piano to piano. They are, however, very nice
pianos and one of the best sounding American-made nickelodeons that
you will ever find.
