Hello -- I have a small, round music box (about 5" in diameter) that
I just got from a cousin that I was told my grandfather gave to my
grandmother as an anniversary gift in the 1920's or 1930's and I'd like
to find out more about it. It is green metal (tin?) with a gold metal
bottom. The top has a lid that lifts off and has a bit of a well to
store something in, and a "trigger" that turns the music off when the
lid is replaced onto the music box. The lid has a painted picture of
a leaping yellow deer, a tree and blue grass & water. It has a cylinder
music roll inside that is labeled Thorens 126417. The music that plays
is "I Love You Truly, Truly Dear".
Can you give me your best guess as to where I might look for
information on the music box?
Thanks so much for your time!
