Richard Zebulon Vance, who has posted here in the past and is the
author of the web site http://mmd.foxtail.com/Tech/AeoW/ on how to
rebuild the Aeolian Orchestrelle, passed away today from complications
caused by a stroke. I am his son-in-law.
His death was relatively painless and the entire process was 1-1/2
weeks from the stroke to passing away. Please pass this on to anyone
who cares or enjoyed his intricate care of his work.
Many of you may not know he installed a full church pipe organ into his
home. He had to cut a hole in his dining room floor so the reservoir
(in the basement) could fill with air without imploding the house.
Anyhow, he has eight player pianos and organs and over 3000 player piano
rolls. We will be selling them at some point.
Thanks for your time and attention.
Peace,
Jay Mitlo
[ I visited 'Zeb' at his home one year ago. The pipe organ seemed
[ to almost fill the basement, the player reed organ occupied much
[ of the dining area, and player pianos and music rolls were 'most
[ everywhere -- I felt right at home! I'm greatly saddened by his
[ death. -- Robbie
