There is a new product that is just about to come to market for
non-perfuming deodorizing and elimination of odors and sources.
It's one of those a-friend-of-a-friend deals and I was skeptical
myself, but convinced them to let me try it as a test case.
The developer was one of the PhD's that worked on the air filtration
for the space shuttle program. The research led to creating a super
strong version for commercial/industrial use. (Space shuttles are
clean room environments and don't require super powerful reducers,
just compact efficient scrubbers.)
I have been testing the neutralizer packs in my apartment and car,
and after one month, the musty Texas air conditioner smells are gone,
as well as the many of the airborne allergens (my wife is extremely
sensitive and is now breathing much easier.)
I had thought about using one of these filter packs in a tented air
circulator around my 1916 Starr to neutralize the musty smell. (Just
acquired, it was stored for 30 years in a slightly damp basement.)
If anyone else would like to try one, let me see if he will sell me
a few more packs. As I said, these are not yet to market.
He has three versions available: filter bags that hang in an air
stream, a liquid spray for carpets and upholstery, and a fogger/bomb.
While the chemicals are harmless, the air in the room (from the fogging)
can become toxic quickly due to the molds and allergens this formula
draws out and removes.
