Other Uses of Piano Parts
By Bryan Cather

I smoke a pipe, and the stem of my pipe unscrews for cleaning. Over
the years, the threads have become worn enough that when screwed in
tight enough not to leak, the bowl is tilted slightly and looks rather
silly. I solved the problem by putting a front rail punching over the
stem, where it screws into the bowl, and then trimmed off the excess.
It works and looks just fine. I wonder if anyone else has put any of
the various parts one finds in a piano to other uses.
