In the recent past there was a thread about Ampico music rolls of
post-1940's. While doing a clear-out on a cold winter day, I found
these items to share. I can't recall if they were listed before.
First -- A QRS issue numbered CU-172 titled "The Vestal Press Rag",
composed by Jon Jensen to celebrate the 13th Anniversary of the
Vestal Press, and (c)1974. It was played by Bill Flynt. (Now
a piece of history with the passing of both Harvey and Marion)
Second -- A Play-Rite catalogue from the summer of 1980, offering
"Ampico Modern Releases":
30013 - The Sting - part 1 / pb William Flynt
30023 - The Sting - part 2
30011 - Maple Leaf Rag
30001 - African Echoes
41101 - Feelings / pb Johnny Guarnieri
41111 - Evergreen / pb Bud Noble
41121 - Exodus Theme
41131 - Mahogany Theme
41141 - Music Box Dancer / pb Walter Erickson
41151 - Tie A Yellow Ribbon
41161 - A Taste Of Honey / pb Bud Noble
41171 - Moon River
41181 - Go Away Little Girl / Somethin' Stupid / pb William Flynt
Last -- "St. Louis Blues" played by John Arpin and sold on the Front
Porch label, known by most as Rob DeLand's BluesTone Rolls.
In addition to the above, there have been several Ampico releases on
the Artcraft Label, by Douglas Henderson, but I did not keep a record
of these and the rolls are no longer in my library.
Regards to all - Ken Vinen, Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
