A. B. Brill was an old-time carney [carnival] operator (I think) who
published a cute mimeographed(!) catalog of plans for every imaginable
carney ride, and for such treats as carney lemonade (no lemons) and
corn dogs (you don't even want to know!).
I purchased his calliope plans. They are, shall we say, "rough".
Basically you weld up an air box out of 20 gage steel and make pipes
out of almost anything round (PVC, ABS) painted to look like brass.
I can't lay my hands on my copy of the catalog now, but it is worth
having as a conversation piece if you can find one. These are
definitely not the Stanoszek plans. I met Brill in Peoria about
20 years ago. I would be surprised if he was still alive.
