Earthing & Grounding & Incandescent Lamps

Others had designed incandescent lamps -- the idea wasn't new -- but
Edison's work improved them such that they could be used in a practical
lighting system.  Edison and Swan worked it out: I believe that the
British system was known as the 'Ediswan' scheme.
