Electric Hot Glue Pot
By D. L. Bullock
You should not use water anywhere around a 'Hold Heet' glue pot. It is
fully dry. You must have a lid if you intend to use it with the liner
provided. I don't know why they did not make one.
The liner can be removed if you make up your glue in plastic squeeze
bottles. They should be translucent so you can see the glue inside.
I use a large coffee can that fits over the whole glue pot with bottles
in place. (The kind that you use a can opener on will fit all the way
down.) It holds the heat in during winter months.
When I used to use a brush and the original liner in my pot, I used
plastic butter tub lids with a hole or cutout for the brush handle.
If you use the original liner, drain and clean it if you intend to
leave it cold for more than a week. The glue will corrode the liner
and make holes in the bottom. Also the steel rack in the middle should
not be used -- it rusts and spoils the glue. How do you think I know
these things? <G>
