Replacing Veneer of Airmotor Slide Valves
By Michael Concordia

Also, I'm going to rebuild my Standard action roll motor and it appears
I will need to remove and replace the mahogany veneer on the sliding
valve side (many cracks). I have the tools to plane down and remove
this layer of veneer (about 1/8" thick) but am not sure if I'll be
able to find a replacement. Can anyone point me to a source for such?
Or might I be better off recreating the whole block from scratch?
If so, any tips would be appreciated on what wood type(s) to use.

Thanks.

Michael Concordia
