To all: I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Peter Philips
as representative of The Reproducing Piano Roll Foundation, effectively
immediately for all of Australia and nearby zones.
Mr. Philips is a well-known engineer, with his own web site offering
his services, including the amazing task (now complete) of offering
1400 popular and classical scans of the Ampico catalog. He has agreed
to accept orders for the publication, "Namhafte Pianisten im Aufnahme
Salon Hupfeld", which we have provided with an English translation.
He will have copies of the text to distribute to those who have already
purchased the book, and invites orders from those who have expressed
interest. This will include any of you who have e-mailed me upon the
announcement of a limited quantity of the book, which unfortunately
I was not able to fill.
As he is vastly experienced in roll detail, and is a close associate
of Mr. Denis Condon, whose collection is undoubtedly the largest in
that part of the world, he will also be able to answer technical
questions, and catalog detail, as well. We are immensely pleased that
he has indicated his willingness to work closely with us in our project
of preservation of the roll recordings.
For other detail required, access Peter Phillips <eleced@idx.com.au>
and his web site: http://members.optushome.com.au/eleced/index.htm
Peter advises that he is accepting orders now for a second set of
books, the first having been completely subscribed. Visit his web
site for general information and the e-mail address for cost details
for the book.
We express our complete satisfaction with this welcome new development,
as we shall now be able to service our members with dispatch and at
much less cost, in that very beautiful part of the world.
Albert M. Petrak, Founder
The Reproducing Piano Roll Foundation
