Storing Musical Box Discs
By Ron Briones

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I saw your e-mail address in the music box web site. I just got a
Polyphon from my mother. It's is in pretty good shape; it has a little
of the fancy wood curlicue trim broken, but other than that it's not
too bad. It has fifty 24-1/2-inch discs. How should I store the discs,
vertical, slanted or flat?

Right now I'm making a list of the discs that I have. Some of the
discs are in German, they say made in Leipzig. Some seem to be French.
Most of them have the name of the music and who wrote it or performed
it; I'm not sure. I can see most of the numbers that are printed on
the discs.

My mother has another Polyphon that has a wood and glass cover over the
mechanical works, mine does not have this. I think I might eventually
make a cover for mine. I could use information all and any that you
could give me. Thanks.
