Just an additional piece of advice beyond Peter Neilson's note about
'useful' persons. Whenever having a piano delivered always ask your
wife, or children, to go into another room and stay there until allowed
to come out. This prevents them from trying to be 'helpful' or making
'useful' observations at an inappropriate time. With a couple of
trained movers its surprising how quickly the job will be done.
Another point already made is about castors. Once on its end on the
dolly, replace the casters if you are in any doubt about their quality.
Always buy the best two-wheeled roller bearing casters available from
any good piano warehouse. These are better than any original ones
I have found on vintage players and coin pianos.
Best wishes from GB,
Nicholas Simons
