Happy Holidays MMDers! I need advice on insurance for my calliope on
a trailer. I had been told that it was insured when hooked behind my
van. I have gone on that information for 7 years. Fortunately,
nothing has happened. It is stored for the winter and will not be
moved until properly insured.
Help is needed on the best and, of course, the least expensive way
to get insurance. My agent did not know of any way to insure it.
Of course, I am going to be looking for another agent and company.
Thanks,

[ Most municipalities that produce public parades have insurance
[ against liability claims, should an accident occur while the
[ vehicle is involved in the parade, but the owner is expected
[ to provide his own insurance against theft and damage to his
[ property. I believe that the typical auto insurance policy
[ covers only liability due to an accident. Theft or damage to
[ the contents of an open trailer is not usually covered, although
[ the insurance carrier might offer a "rider" to the policy for
[ such additional coverage. -- Robbie
