Contact Bob Streicher, Machinist
By Matthew Caulfield

The Streicher mystery

I was born in the nowhere town of Port Jervis, N.Y., which is precisely
on the border of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. That is only
20 minutes down the Delaware River from Pond Eddy, N.Y., so I was able
to guess at what John Tuttle's problem was in locating Bob Streicher.

Bob's old phone number was 1-717-559-7403. But there was an area code
split in 1999, so his number is now 1-570-559-7403. But that is not
the whole problem. Both of those area codes are in Pennsylvania,
because Bob Streicher doesn't live in New York State or in Pond Eddy,
N.Y.

Robert Streicher lives at 590 Parkers Glen Road, Shohola, PA 18458.
Bob is like many people in that wilderness area of the Shawangunk
Mountains: where they live and where they go to find civilization are
two different places. In this case the two places are separated by the
Delaware River and hence by the New York-Pennsylvania border. A phone
call to the Shohola, Pennsylvania, information operator will confirm,
I think, that Bob Streicher is alive and well in Pennsylvania.

By the way, just across the Delaware from Pond Eddy, N.Y., there is
a Pond Eddy, Pa. But that isn't involved here.
