Preventing Damage To Piano Rolls
By John Phillips

Hello MMDers. I agree entirely with Frank Adams about slightly
increasing the width of roll spools (MMD 031108). I have mended many
piano rolls over the last ten years and I believe that in the majority
of cases, the edge damage was caused by a too tight spool. I always
make the spool width slightly greater than the roll width before
putting a repaired roll back on the shelf.
