Duo-Art Audiographic W & Y Series
By Joe Orens

The "Catalog of Duo-Art Rolls", by Charles Davis Smith does list W and
Y series AudioGraphic Rolls under Miscellaneous Issues. Smith was not
aware of Aeolian catalog/advertisement information about these rolls so
the rolls listed were those known in collections during his research.
Subsequently, others have been found.

Usually, the titles also appear as regular A and D series AudioGraphic
rolls with listener's notes by different annotators. These rolls are
thought to have been issued for utilization in music school programs
and Aeolian might have tried to include somewhat more educational
information. Also, it is believed that a special overhead projector
was available that enabled practical use in a classroom setting.
