Valve Washers for Aeolian Grand Player Organ
By Roger Wiegand

I am looking for a source for paper washers, 1-1/4-inch outside
diameter, 3/4-inch inside diameter, 0.0035 inch thickness. These are
used under the valve plates on the Aeolian Grand player reed organ
I am currently rebuilding.

I've found that McMaster Carr lists Teflon washers of this size. At
first blush it seems that these might be a good replacement, providing
a better seal between the plate and the valve board using a material
known to have a very long lifetime. I'm always loathe to substitute
modern materials for time-proven solutions, but this seems like a
pretty good bet. Am I missing something?

Cheers!
