Seek QRS Educator Series for Recutting
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, Some of you may remember that QRS use to make a set of six
rolls called the "Educator Series". Sadly, QRS decided not to continue
making the set, and in an email correspondence with Bob Berkman earlier
today, he said that the set has been "discontinued."

This is truly sad because the set really does work. In fact, I wrote
an article to the MMD back in January of 1998 about an 86-year-old
woman who learned how to play the piano using this set of rolls.
In a subsequent posting, Bill Blodgett explained the process that was
used to make the rolls, which were initially introduced in the 1920's.

Unfortunately, I do not have the set. If I did, I would hire one of
the roll makers who can put words and graphics on the roll so that many
more people could enjoy learning how to play the piano via a player
piano.

So, my first step is to find a set, complete with the booklet written
by Francis Carr Glover, "Adult Piano Course". Then I will approach the
various roll makers to find one who is willing to take on this
worthwhile project.

All help and advice is welcomed.

Musically,

John A. Tuttle
