Fats Waller Piano Rolls Played On Pipe Organ

I don't think that it was the famous Charles-Marie [Widor] organist
who was present at this evening at the big Saint-Sulpice organ.
In reality, Widor left Saint-Sulpice in 1933 and the new head organist
at that moment was Marcel Dupre. It is probable that it was the
renowned organist and composer Marcel Dupre who invited Fats Waller
to play some tunes on his own organ of Saint-Sulpice.
Dupre has been before organist at Notre-Dame de Paris, and it's not
impossible that Waller confused Saint-Sulpice and Notre Dame, which
are two very big churches located in the center of Paris. But note
that the Saint-Sulpice Cavaille-Coll organ was at that time the biggest
organ in France.
Fortunately, three years ago I was offered the opportunity to play on
this organ; it is still a wonderful instrument. At the present time
the two head organists of Saint Sulpice are Ms Sophie-Veronique Choplin
and Mr Daniel Roth.
