North Tonawanda "Sextrola" Orchestrion
By Jon Miller

Hello all. Tonight I was listening to some LPs of various band organs
and orchestrions. One instrument was called a "Sextrola". The liner
notes state "the name, Sextrola, would indicate use in a red light
district." I note, however, that the unit has six instruments. Am
I wrong in thinking that the name "Sextrola" refers to the fact that
it has six instruments rather than what the author of the liner notes
states? (tri, quad, sept, sex, oct, etc.)

[ In 990901 MMD John Rutoskey wrote that Paul Eakins' Sextrola appears
 [ on a LP recording from Gay '90s Village called "A Nickel's Worth --
 [ When?" -- Robbie
