Dear MMD, The catalogue for Christie's autumn Mechanical Music

The auction will take place in London (South Kensington) on 29th
October at 1 PM, with viewing from the 26 until the morning of the
sale. There are 140 lots, including several important pieces:
Lot 535: An exceptional Nicole Freres mandolin musical box, with
eleven grand format cylinders, housed in a walnut desk.
Lot 536: A Nicole Freres grand format forte-piano overture box,
no. 32031
Lot 585: A Black Forest barrel organ, probably by Bruder, with
six automata figures and twenty-two movements
There is also a large section of automata, many in fine original
condition, by Gustave Vichy, Roullet et Decamps, Lambert, a coin
operated (John Dennision) tightrope walker, 'Fin de Siecle' smoking
moon, Renou magician, etc.
Phonographs/Gramophones, including a Columbia Type S coin-op., HMV,
Hiller talking clock, a rare Edison phonograph doll. Amusement
machines, singing bird boxes, radio, television and technical
apparatus.
