Organ Roll Player by Automatic Music Corp.
By Ken Vaughn

I recently purchased a Wurlitzer electronic organ with a player
mechanism attached. I don't know its age but it is transistor
electronics, not vacuum tube type. It has three manuals and was
made by Kimball for Wurlitzer. The player mechanism was made by
the Automatic Music Corp.

The darn thing almost works. It should play standard piano rolls
but right now only one or two notes are playing from the roll.

The electronics and organ keyboard are fine. Notes will sound if you
lift any air valve manually . I suspect that the tracker bar and or
pneumatic tubing is clogged; there is a lot of dust in the organ
cabinet in general. I've tried using my shop vac and a toothpick
to clean out the holes on the tracker bar. What else can I do?

The vacuum pump is running okay but I have no way to measure its
vacuum. It seems strong and steady. All of the tubing looks to be
in good condition, soft and pliable; I don't hear any obvious leaks.

I found this instrument at a thrift store and couldn't resist buying
it to tinker with and for the player mechanism that might be useful
for my band organ project. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
