Organmatic Magic Organ Player Attachment
By Mike Knudsen

That Organmatic player seems to be simpler and cruder than the
Dynavoice keytop piano player. There are two or three of us here on
the MMD who have at least started to restore a Dynavoice, but this is
the first I've heard of the organ player. The Dynavoice uses plastic
unit valve, but with thin rubber membranes that last over 50 years if
not abused by excessive valve travel and the high vacuum used.

Is it true that the Organmatic had to be wired across the organ's key
contacts -- it did not push on the organ keys? That would be a real
nightmare, especially since many organs have multiple contacts per key
(a Hammond as nine). Or maybe I misread the description.

Anyway I'm impressed by the lockout scheme that plays only the lowest
bass note. That may involve converting the vacuum tracker bar hole to
electrical for the "logic" switching, then back to pneumatic to trigger
the pedal key striker?

Obviously I'd like to hear more about this unit.

Thanks,
Mike Knudsen
