Hi all, Since I am of Scandinavian decent, I have been actively
pursuing Scandinavian rolls for years. I have only one Norwegian roll,
supplied by another nice MMD'er and it is "QRS 41907 -- In Norway,
a selection of Norwegian Songs and Dances". It is the only Norwegian
roll I have ever come across. I have never found any Danish rolls, and
I suspect that the companies that made the rolls said the songs were
sung in all Scandinavia, so why not simply just call them as Swedish.
When you do go to Minneapolis, please don't buy all the rolls as I am
planning to come to the AMICA convention in a couple of years and will
be seeking out some rolls also. So please leave some for me to find!
I do have a copy of "Halsa Dem Darhemma", QRS WF8721, by Elith Worsing.
I had the title translated from the old Swedish to "Say hello to those
{who are} at home" It is one of my favorites! I am sorry to say that
it is not for sale. :-(
But I was thinking -- If there are enough Scandinavians out there who
also would love to have some of these great tunes, perhaps we can all
get together, pool our selections and do a recutting project and
everyone can have a new recut copy. I have music roll customers over
in the Scandinavian countries and maybe they would like some also!
Let me know! Any Scandinavians out there who would like to get closer
to their roots and have some great Scandinavian music? Here are all
the great Scandinavian titles that I also have:
QRS WF6068 Pa Roines Strand
QRS F7994 Pa Fjaderholmen Hambo
QRS WF6661 Staccars Olson

Unfortunately my computer email does not do the characters with the
dots over the characters or other ones, so I will just do the words
without. How come we cannot do other characters on email?
