A customer of mine has to sell her 1924 Weber Duo-Art baby grand
because she's moving to a smaller home. The Duo-Art was competently
restored about 25 years ago, is working but needs some regulation.
The piano itself is mostly original; only the plate has been re-gilded,
but strings and action are original, and in very good condition. It
has genuine ivory keys in excellent condition. The soundboard and
bridges have no cracks, the tuning pins are tight, and it is in tune.
The case was refinished and has some sun damage on the tail, otherwise
looks good.
I listened to George Gershwin play his Rhapsody in Blue on this piano,
and it sounded great; it has a big, clear tone. New bass strings would
substantially improve the sound; this costs about $600.
The owner wants $4500 but is very motivated to sell and would consider
offers. It's located and may be seen in Kentfield, California (a half
hour north of San Francisco). I can help arrange long-distance moves.
Please contact me if interested.
