Hello all, Does anyone have any actual practical experience of using
an adhesive such as Araldite, etc., for attaching single replacement
or groups of teeth into a cylinder musical box comb?
The time honoured method of soldering works okay, but I have read in
various publications that it "should" be possible to glue them, but
has anybody actually done it with any success yet? I am particularly
interested to know how well they can be disguised, and if it is
possible to colour the glue with some silver paint or fine metal
filings before use, etc.
I have found that most if not all of the restorers are very reluctant
to impart any information to amateur restorers in the hope they will
gain some more business; what I want to know is who will be the next
generation of restorers if information is not passed on. Or do they
not care so long as they are raking in the money now.
