Prospect Park Carousel Organ
By Michael McNamara

The band organ on the Prospect Park Carousel was tuned by John Rutoskey
last Monday. I haven't heard it live yet, but I did hear it over the
phone as they were playing it for a while on Monday even though the
carousel was closed, and it sounded _excellent._

Thursday was the first business day for the band organ (they are open
only Thursday to Sunday) but it was interrupted at 4:11 PM when the
power went out. The band organ was playing and the carousel was moving
and they both suddenly shut off. The head of the carousel concession
also bought 5 new rolls: roll 13139 and the four rolls cut by Tom
Meijer for the "Good Old USA Carousel Music" CDs.

I am planning on going out to hear that Wurlitzer 153 one day soon
because over the phone it sounded great; I could only imagine how good
it sounds live in person.
