Seek Photos of Artizan Band Organ for Dimensions
By Roger Wiegand

We'll I finally brought home my latest project, an Artizan A-1 band
organ "kit". Looking at the boxes of disassembled parts it is very
clear that seeing what one of these beasts looks like when put together
will be very helpful to my restoration efforts.

Do any of you in New England or the wider northeast have one that
I might take photographs and measurements from? (About three-quarters
of the pipes are missing and will have to be remade.)

I'm also interested in your thoughts as to what roll type to restore
it to. I understand that most 46-key Artizans have been converted from
the original pressure operated system to a Wurlitzer 125 vacuum system.

My first instinct is to make it original, but am I going to regret
that either because the pressure system doesn't work well, or because
I won't be able to find rolls? And how does B.A.B. figure into this?
Is the 46-key B.A.B. scale identical to the Artizan, or does it just
"mostly work"?

Cheers!
