Don: I have on several occasions contacted the bidders on items I can
see are obviously described incorrectly. I have also contacted the
seller in some instances to help them more accurately identify items as
to maker, condition, etc. With the more widespread use of vanity eBay
names, this has recently become more time consuming and so I have not
been doing this where there are a lot of bidders to contact; I prefer
to contact the seller.
In one instance, there was an item that belonged to a collector
whom I knew. They had used the photo from this collector's web site.
I contacted eBay's Fraud Division and told them of the situation; they
removed the item and the seller from the system!
Musically yours,
