Piano Roll Storage Cabinets
By Bryan Cather

Mr. Jelinek wrote about roll cabinets. I have seen a reprint of the
nineteen-twenty-something Montgomery Ward catalog. In it one could
find a Windsor player piano with a small matching roll cabinet that
held 25 rolls ("Harmony" brand, of course) and a matching bench.

Imagine my delight when, a few years ago I visited a restorer (now
deceased) in Lubbock, Texas, who had not only the same Windsor piano,
but also the matching bench, roll cabinet and perhaps 75% of the
Harmony rolls that came with it. Incidentally, the piano was of
quarter sawn "golden" oak, as were the matching accoutrements.
