Repairing Simplex Action in Player Piano
By James Jelinek

In regard to Mr. Austin's Simplex problems; Have you checked the
slide connections to the governor assembly? Are the leather nuts in
place or are they loose? Is there any vacuum coming from the governor
nipple when you pump?

Does your air motor turn freely? Try testing your air motor with
another source of vacuum. If all else fails find a good technician
in your area and ask for his or her help.
