Wurlitzer 153 Band Organ at Dorney Park
By Michael McNamara

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

The last time I visited Dorney Park I was very disappointed with the
Wurlitzer 153 organ on the 'Antique Caroussel'. The organ was very
out of tune and the bass drum beater was all bent and was shaking
instead of playing, and only one of the two snare drum beaters
was playing.

The Chance carousel had a B.A.B. band organ next to it and that organ
sounded decent. I am surprised that a company like Cedar Fair, who
owns Dorney Park, would take such bad care of their band organs,
because Cedar Fair owns Cedar Point which I have heard has two
full-sized carousels with antique band organs.

If anyone knows what the current condition of the Wurlitzer 153 on
the Antique Caroussel is like please let me know by e-mailing me at
<wurlitzer146@cs.com>. Also if anyone has ever tape recorded their
organs, could you please e-mail me a sample of music from either of
their organs.

Thank You,
Michael McNamara
