Hello, I have come across a few copies of "The Marvelous World of
Music Machines" -- new old stock in the original cardboard sleeve.
I've been looking for a copy for some time because it has some
marvelous color photos of a wide variety of mechanical music machines,
including several that I own.
This is the museum catalog book of the Heinrich Weiss-Stauffacher
museum in Switzerland. The hard cover book is about 10" x 12" and has
almost 250 pages. There are over 150 pages of high quality color
photos of every type of mechanical music machine, from automata to
zither and from musical pocket watches to band organs.
Each picture is accompanied by a full description of the machine.
There is also information on the history of these machines, samples of
various composite machines, pictures of punching machines, definition
of numerous tracker bar scales and extensive information about the
Welte-Mignon machines (including regulation).
These books originally sold for $75 each in 1976 and they are getting
hard to find. They usually go for $150 - $195. I have six extra
copies that I'd like to sell for $95 each. Please contact me privately
(remove ".geentroep" from the e-mail address above).
