Modern Songs On Mechanical Music Instruments
By Jerry F. Bacon

Hello to all! Years ago I took care of a Wurlitzer 125 at an indoor
amusement park in Dallas, Texas. We obtained a roll from Play-Rite
that had modern stuff on it and the people loved it, but alas the ASCAP
man came along and asked for at least a fee per year.

That ended the playing of that roll. From then on we just played old
marches and rags. What I will call the "Raindrops" roll was very good,
it really made good use of the organ. I was not a part of management
so I have no idea of what the fee was, but the ASCAP man had credentials
so was taken very seriously.
