Ontario Beach Park Band Organ, Rochester, NY
By Dan Robinson
Correction: My posting in the June 2nd MMD opened with the following:
> Any MMDers in the area of Rochester, New York, who may have been
> planning to go hear the newly MIDI-fied Stinson 165 band organ at
> Ontario Beach Park had better put their plans on hold. All is not
> well there after all.
Please allow me the opportunity to correct the record. My opening
statement was written in the midst of aggravation and frustration.
Worded as it was, it is easy to see how it may have been
misinterpreted.
Allow me to rephrase: All that is 'not well' at the Ontario Beach Park
carousel is that certain employees would deny carousel riders and
guests the opportunity to enjoy the 'Happiest Music On Earth' played by
the park's newly restored band organ. My sole intention was to point
out an undesirable employee situation.
The Stinson Band Organ Company's restoration of this band organ,
including the installation of the Stinson MIDI operating system,
exhibits the highest quality and professionalism. And, as I said in
my May 27th posting, the band organ plays as wonderfully or better
than it did when it was new.
I hope it was clear, even in the haste of my June 2nd posting, that
I just want everyone to be able to enjoy this magnificent band organ
without it being shut down at any employee's discretion. I sincerely
apologize for any confusion or misunderstandings my statement of June
2nd may have caused.
