San Diego Balboa Park Band Organ Is Too Loud
By Vincent Morgan
I suggest that you buy earplugs for the employees. Last year we were
in San Diego at Balboa Park where the employees complained that the
organ was too loud. They put it on for us, but only while we rode the
carousel. As soon as we got off they switched to recorded music --
which was _much_ louder than the organ!
Sports stores, Home Depot, etc., carry inexpensive foam earplugs that
are terrific. I am often asked to speak in churches other than my own,
many of which have very loud "music". To protect ourselves we now
carry these inexpensive earplugs with us.
Bill Finch wrote about a merchant that chased away the undesirables
simply by playing classical music. I understand that this same method
was used in Edmonton, Alberta's, public parks with the same results.
